Our Story
We're Brian and Jordan Ingle, the husband-and-wife team at the heart of Broken Oak Barbecue (and that's our unofficial mascot, Cooper). Blending Brian's mastery of cooking with smoke and open flame with Jordan's creative talent, we launched a catering company that specializes in pop-ups and private events around Atlanta. We embarked on this journey with a simple yet profound mission: to share our passion for great food and Southern hospitality with our community. With each event, we pour our hearts into fostering an experience that centers around warmth, camaraderie, and unparalleled flavors.
Brian proudly pays homage to his Texas roots by embracing the authentic and time-honored tradition of cooking over open fire and smoke. He cooks on a 330-gallon offset smoker he designed and constructed himself, with his father-in-law lending a hand during the building process. The wood is sourced from oak trees that have naturally fallen at our farm, ensuring a sustainable and authentic flavor profile. Brian's strong belief that truly great barbecue takes time and patience is reflected in every meticulously smoked brisket and made-from-scratch side dish, ensuring a depth of flavor that’s worth the wait.
We BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF A SHARED TABLE TO BRING PEOPLE CLOSER.
Ultimately, our story is rooted in a common desire to serve others, a profound respect for genuine connections, and an unwavering commitment to bringing people together through the joy of food & gracious hospitality. Nothing delights us more than creating a meal with care and passion, then seeing it become the centerpiece around which our neighbors gather, share, and revel in laughter.
We’ve found that there's a unique joy in crafting food from the heart, paying close attention to the details that elevate an event into something genuinely special, and then witnessing the joy it sparks in those who experience it. It serves as a powerful testament to the ability of homemade food and simple acts of thoughtfulness to forge connections and enhance the fabric of our community. This journey of heartfelt service is more than a passion project; it's our way of knitting the community closer, one lovingly prepared dish at a time.
